What the NCDA Section Does for You!
Interpreter's Road Show!
The Interpreter's Road Show is a pre-conference trip that provides an intensive, behind-the-scenes, two-day tour to a variety of nature centers, visitor centers, and other interpretive facilities in the vicinity of the conference host city.
Professional Development Grants:
Certified Interpretive Manager (CIM) Grant
NCDA Section members are invited to apply for a $125 grant to cover costs for the Certified Interpretive Manager Certification. Applicants must be individual NAI members and a member of the NCDA Section. This certification is for someone who manages an interpretive facility, supervises staff, prepares budgets, or is otherwise responsible for daily operations of an interpretive site.
2024 Interpreter's Road Show Grant
NCDA section members can apply for a grant that can be used to cover the costs of attending the Interpreter's Road Show. In 2024, two grants of $800 each will be awarded and are due May 31, 2024. Apply online here.
Recipients will be chosen based on involvement in NAI and the interpretive field. Applicants must be individual NAI members and a member of the NCDA section. Recipients are automatically registered for the Road Show. NCDA will pay the Road Show fee and the remaining amount will be sent to the recipient for use to cover other expenses during the pre-conference. Recipients will be asked to participate in NCDA activities such as article writing, gathering management tips, board elections or grant grading for up to one year after the award.
